Hey there!
I'm Brian, the Administrator at The Rainbow Community.
You may have noticed a little chatbox area at the bottom of the home page and each of the forum sections.
As you can see, it is global so that anything within it, can be seen on any part of the website so you can continue to chat quickly with your friends or fellow community members, whilst you navigate the rest of the forum as well
But what actually is the Shoutbox?
Well, it's quite simply, as mentioned above, a chatbox, a much quicker way to communicate with others within the site about random topics rather than about individual, specific topics within forum threads.
So, does it follow the same Rules of Conduct as the rest of the forum does?
Yes, the same behaviour should be followed when using any part of the website regardless of it's via the Forum, the Shoutbox or via Private Messaging.
Will the Shoutbox be moderated any differently than the Forum?
Yes, the Shoutbox has a differently built-in system for Moderators to use.
Moderators will be able to Delete and Edit messages and Ban repeat offenders.
Who can use the Shoutbox?
Anyone can use the Shoutbox, even guests which is why we must moderate it even more closely. So, if you see some of our Helpers or Moderators lurking around or chatting away in the Shoutbox, they are just doing their job, however, I understand that they are people too so they are more than welcome to hang out and socialise so don't be afraid to say "Hello" if you see them around!
Happy Chatting!
