Well, I never thought I'd ever see a forum with a board for this kind of thing. I know I've only just signed up, but I figured it can't hurt to post it, can it?
I used to work with these guys, and they're probably two of the most selfless people I've ever met in my life.

Rosie and James' son has to spend a minium of six months in the peadiatric high dependency unit at {edited out by jack}. Henry was born with a CHD (Chronic Heart Defect) Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Henrys heart only has 3 chambers. The heart defect is heartbreakingly palliative. It can not be fixed. Rosie and James were given 3 options at 20 weeks. Termination, comfort card when born (let Henry slip away) or operate to lengthen his life. Only 60% of babies survive all 3 open heart surgeries. But this was the only option they were willing to discuss. They wanted to give Henry every opportunity. He's got a long road ahead of him. Both Rosie and James live at the hospital close by to their son but have other commitments in {edited out by jack} which requires them to travel frequently. Rosie is unable to go to work at present for obvious reasons. Both are from the nursing/healthcare background and have spent their careers helping other people, now they need some help theirselves. I thought it might be nice if we could all manage to raise some money together to make this difficult time a little easier for them. I understand that money is tight for everyone but every little would help.
Henry has Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (Half a heart) and that is a condition where the left lower pumping chamber (left ventricle) of the heart does not develop properly so is much smaller than usual. The mitral valve between the left ventricle and the upper left filling chamber (left atrium) is often closed or very small. In addition, the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body (aorta) is also smaller than usual. This means that the heart is unable to pump blood around the body effectively.
Our baby has a long road ahead of open heart surgeries and mini surgeries. And the truth being that we wish on stars that our little fighter keeps fighting through it all. (60% survival rate). We aren't guaranteed a happy outcome... Since being here we've seen family's have happy outcomes and other family's have their worlds torn apart . We are holding onto hope day to day but we have all the hope in the world.
Henry also was born with one kidney... Yet he likes to prove that one kidney works very well by being a human water fountain with his pee
