Recently, a massive tragedy hit in London when a fire in Grenfell Tower took the lives of at least 58 residents currently living there and injuring others as they tried to flee the building.

The following artists paid tribute in a charity single in which all proceeds from the track purchases will be split evenly amongst the victims and families of those who unfortunately passed away:

I have to admit I am rather cynical about charity singles and tend to avoid them as I feel they are only being done for their own personal kudos.

I'm not denying that, Brian, but the actual artists only think about their own ego.

Although whether I actually at least give the record a hearing will depend on who is performing on it. If there is even one artist I don't like, I won't listen.

mamafrankie I have listed the entire list of artists above. However, not to be intentionally rude, but do you not think that's a bit "over the top"? I mean, one artist out of all of them and you won't listen? Even if it's just one and it's for a good cause?

Also, unless you're actually the artist yourself, I don't think you should make that accusation but even if they were, so what? It's still for a good cause isn't it?

I like some of the acts (such as Robbie Williams and Brian May) and can't stand Leona Lewis, Liam Payne or Tulisa. Most of them, however, I have never heard of, such as Deno and Mr Eazi (in fact, most of them I have never heard of let alone heard) because I don't listen to chart music and haven't done for 25 years as it is rubbish I can no longer relate to.

I have very strong principles, Brian and I stick rigidly to them. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this.

I'll admit that there's two or three of them I'm not particularly fond of and you're more than welcome to your opinion, however, I quite enjoy chart music nowadays.
Everybody has different tastes which is perfectly acceptable, I just suggest stating that it's simply your opinion rather than directly saying things as "as it is rubbish" since it could imply that you're disregarding other's opinions but don't worry, I know that you're not and that you meant no harm.

I also added some new fields to the Mini-Profile including a Musical Interests field so that members can learn more about each other

When I call a song 'rubbish', I merely mean that it is the way I perceive it. I respect that others may not see it the same way. It's just that today's stuff doesn't resonate with me, but then I'm getting old!
